Originally designed in 1936 by master sculptor Reinhold Unger and redesigned by Gerhard Skrobek in 1964, this endearing figurine - also known as “Little Chicken Mother” or “The Little Chick Girl” - features a young girl in a headscarf and apron carefully collecting three tiny chicks. Two sit snugly in her woven basket, while she gently reaches toward the third chick at her feet, ready to return them all safely to their mother. Her tender gesture and protective demeanor capture the innocence and nurturing spirit of childhood.

Produced under the TMK‑3 marking (stylized bee inside a V, used from 1960 to 1972), this figurine is a cherished example of the evolution of Hummel design, showcasing both early and modern sculptural influences.

Crafted in hand-painted porcelain in West Germany. Measures approximately 3½″ tall. Signed “M. I. Hummel” on the base. Listed in the Second Edition Official M.I. Hummel Price Guide for $150–$175.

Condition: Slight crazing and a small chip on the back of the head wrap. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Fast shipping and careful handling.
